Elder Smallwood’s vision is to claim the lost for Jesus Christ and to lead the church in a mission of discipleship to others.
Lady Smallwood heads up the church’s Women’s Ministry and she welcomes the opportunity to “put her hands to the plow” in activities around the church. She currently functions as the church administrator and uses her background in retail management to ensure that the business of the church is in order. A devout worshiper and “prayer warrior,” Lady Smallwood is highly-respected and dearly loved among the parishioners who describe her as a “humble and beautiful woman of God!”

She held numerous leadership assignments, including a position at a children’s resale store in Dallas, Tex., and a job as a retail executive in Louisville, Ky. She transitioned to health care as a registered dental assistant after a move to Nashville for her husband’s career. Added to her reputation as a fashion maven, Lady Christine loves to study the Bible and she constantly seeks ways to support and motivate others. She is an excellent role model for the women of NKWC and she humbly walks in her great calling as the right arm and wife of her pastor, Elder Smallwood. Lady Christine lives in Franklin, Tenn., with her husband.
WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, written by holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (II Peter 1:21)
WE BELIEVE in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes as well as omniscient and omnipresent.
WE BELIEVE that He was revealed to us as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit in His grace, never leaving those who trust in Him. (Deut. 6:4; Is. 45:18; John 1:1,14)
WE BELIEVE that in Jesus dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell. (Col. 2:9; 1:19; Jn 14:8; 10:30; I John 5:7, Isaiah 43: 10-15)
WE BELIEVE in the Virgin Birth. Jesus was both human and divine; He was God manifested in flesh. (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; I Timothy 3:16)
WE BELIEVE in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
WE BELIEVE that He ascended on high and has sent his spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1900 years ago, and it is this same spirit that fills the hearts of those who seek Him today. (Acts 2:22-24; I Cor. 15:20; Acts 2:4)
WE BELIEVE in baptism in water by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth. (Acts 2:38; St. John 3:3-8; Acts 8:16; 10:44-46; 19:5; Titus 3:5,)
WE BELIEVE in a holy, sanctified life.
WE BELIEVE in divine healing, communion and foot washing.
WE BELIEVE also in the glorious catching away (The Rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds of glory to take His people to Heaven. (I Peter 1:16; St. Matthew 5:48; II Corinth. 7:1; I Thess. 4:16; St. Mark 16:17-18)
WE BELIEVE that JESUS is the only saving NAME and so whatsoever you do in word or deed, you should do ALL in the Name of the Lord Jesus. (Acts 4:12; Col. 3:17)
Nashville Kingdom and Worship Center was established in 2005 by Bishop Leo S. Lewis in Nashville, Tenn. The early church was an outgrowth of a dissolved assembly formerly known as Abundant Life Church, also located in Nashville.
Organizationally, NKWC is a member of Prophetic Miracle Ministries Worldwide, Inc., (PMMW), which includes over 100 Apostolic Pentecostal churches in the United States and abroad. Among the organization’s domestic churches, five are located in the middle Tennessee area. Headquartered in Montgomery, Ala., the PMMW was founded by Bishop Lewis in 2002 and he continues to serve as its presiding prelate.
Shortly after its inception, NKWC purchased its current location at 108 Oak Valley Drive in Nashville. Originally, the building housed a fraternal lodge on the upper level where the church is now located and a day-care center occupied rental space on the first floor. While much of the lower floor remains in use by the day-care company, the upstairs was expertly converted to a modern, 200-seat church facility, with adjoining administrative offices, a fellowship hall, and other multi-use amenities.
In 2006, Bishop Lewis appointed Elder Robert C. Smallwood as the assistant pastor of NKWC and charged him with day-to-day pastoral duties. Elder Smallwood became senior pastor of NKWC in December 2010 and he serves together with this wife Christine, who is fondly called “Lady Smallwood” by the church family.
A spirit-filled body of believers, NKWC is located in the heart of Nashville and members eagerly welcome the many ways they can engage with their new neighbors. Elder Smallwood sees the church as a “beacon of hope” in the community. “God commands that we love others as ourselves and, no doubt, our work starts right here where we are located. Christine and I are anxious to put our hands to the plow to discern and realize God’s vision for the ministry,” says Elder Smallwood.
Clearly Elder Smallwood’s vision is shared by the family of Nashville Kingdom and Worship Center. The thriving fellowship is known to be friendly and energetic. Members like nothing better than to engage in spirited Bible study, lively church services, and frequent social events with one another and others. Future plans call for youth rallies, revivals for the winning of souls and various activities that will be open to the community.
We encourage you to accept our invitation to visit us. If you are searching for a church home, we’d like you to know that there’s a special place here just for you. Whether you have never experienced a personal relationship with Jesus or want to have a closer walk with Him, please come and see what the Lord has planned for you at Nashville Kingdom & Worship Center.
